I fully endorse Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination. I think it's the chic thing for twenty somethings to support Barack Obama, since he's young and full of ambitious ideas--a rogue compared to today's politics...but overall, Clinton has the experience and record that I can rely on as the leader of the "free world." Obama is a novice with little experience and voting-record. It's easy for someone to claim that he/she will fight for this-and-that, but with such little experience, how can we be so sure? Every politician in history has made empty, but hopeful, promises. Barack Obama is the ideal candidate...if we were living in a utopian society. Clinton is a bit conservative in some aspects (i.e. war on Iraq), but i believe she has the gall/balls to lead our nation out of the Bush regime.
Albeit, Clinton's husband has been playing too much of a role in her aggressive campaign. Bill has probably done more harm than good. I'm hoping people will be able to see past her famous husband and consider Clinton as a serious candidate with real goals and ideas. I mean, even when he was President, Hillary had a very public and influential role in his presidency--behind every great man is an even greater woman, right?
Up until recently, I considered myself to be a conservative Republican (due to familial upbringing--ultra-conservative Korean-American parents), so that definitely plays a role in my choice of candidate. Seeing as how I now see myself as a moderate-Democrat, Clinton is the ideal choice. Think about it, even psycho-republican Ann Coulter said she would choose Clinton over John McCain (the likely Republican candidate).
I'm hoping the young people of American make educated decisions in the upcoming primaries, instead of "going with the flow" and voting for the "popular candidate." If you have a real conviction that Obama will be the best candidate to run for President, then by all means, vote for him and encourage your colleagues to do the same. But have some reasoning and knowledge to support your decision.
This upcoming presidential election is one of the most exciting and interesting occurrences in recent American political history --- I can't wait to see the results.
Clinton '08!
